Back To School

Heading back to school is exciting for some people, and a little depressing for others.
In my case, I always loved the start of a new school year . . . from gathering all of the cutest notebooks, coordinating pens and pencils, to a new book bag . . . and, of course, shopping for new clothes!

Tanger Outlets has always been my first stop for back-to-school shopping.  Even now that I’m finished with school, I frequent Tanger Outlets weekly. (I know.  It’s an addiction.)  You can create an entirely new wardrobe for less than half the price of shopping at the mall. Sounds like a no-brainer to me! 

Your fashion goals for class should go a little something like “effortlessly put-together” and COMFORTABLE. I cannot stress comfort enough.   I remember a few years back seeing a girl tumble over her pile of books wearing pumps.  Walk around campus all day in pumps?  No, thank you.  I’ll take these J.Crew Factory camo loafers!  (Camo has been on-trend for quite a while now, and we won’t see it going away anytime soon!)  J.Crew Factory has other really great options, too, if you aren’t much of a print fan. 

You may notice that I’m wearing a clutch here and think, “Why would I wear this at school?”  Well, what about your plans after class?  I keep my clutch in my bag a majority of the time for something quick to grab instead of lugging all of my stuff around!

Next on my list:  boyfriend jeans.  I chose a perfectly distressed pair.   J.Crew Factory also has a great pair that isn’t distressed. I paired mine with a chic, knit top that features a peter pan collar.

Now, what shoes to wear with your boyfriends?  Booties, ballet flats, loafers, and even heels for your after-school events. What about a cute pair of converse?  I’m telling you, these jeans have it all. 

When buying for your new school year, think CLASSICS . . . items that can take you through the year and into the next . . . pieces you will be able to pair with countless others from your closet, to create multiple looks.  I found garments that weren’t too trendy and would last.
