Hey friends! I wanted to share our recent trip to Islamorada, FL. I’ve had a lot of questions, so today I will share a full recap!
We stayed at the Cheeca Lodge and Spa, located in Islamorada, FL. (They are celebrating 70 years!!) This is a place you go to really relax without having to leave your hotel to have fun. Everything you could possibly want or need is all at your fingertips. The water is the most beautiful, clear blue I’ve seen in a long time.
We were greeted with such a lovely staff, from the check in to the bellman. Everyone was genuinely happy and sweet. It was funny, as we were walking to pack the car up and head home, Chris and I turned to each other at the exact same time and said “Wow, everyone was so nice!” haha!
Sleep – We stayed in an Oceanfront suite, which was huge! I loved that it was on the first floor (makes it so much easier with babies!) and we had an incredible view of the Atlantic. A nice, big couch in the living area with a giant flat screen smart TV and the most beautiful bathroom I’ve seen in a hotel yet! You can walk through the huge glass shower right onto the balcony to the open air spa tub, which filled from the ceiling. Madelyn thought it was hilarious watching the water pour from the ceiling and splash her little nose! This was ideal for keeping her happy and occupied. We just popped her into the tub to play and she was in heaven. Our room was located in the main lodge, which was extremely convenient. Beach bungalows are also available!
Eat – Limoncello, where we decided to dine, is a delicious italian restaurant. Cheeca also has a sushi lounge and steak and seafood restaurant. The Tiki Bar is located on the beach by the family pool. Room service was crazy delish, by the way! Madelyn ate almost all of my yogurt and granola bowl. Which is okay, because I ate her pancakes 🙂
Enjoy – The activities here are endless. We didn’t have enough time to enjoy everything, so a trip back is definitely in order for the future! The beach is stunning and feels super relaxing and private. A saltwater lagoon makes it perfect to take your little ones for an ocean dip without having the anxiety of them wanting to be in the big water. Maddy loved the waterfalls running into the lagoon! Two heated pools, one is family friendly and the other is the “adult pool”, complete with a cabana butler! You can play golf, tennis, or workout in the fitness studio. Pack your day full of Sea kayaking, snorkeling, paddle boarding (my favorite!) parasailing, morning yoga on the beach, sunset cruise, or a bike ride along the beautiful trails. We loved biking and finding hidden spots to stop off at!
What I thought was really cool about the Cheeca? They have “Camp Cheeca” for the kids to play and enjoy if the adults want some time alone to relax and have fun. (Ages 5-12)
Spa Island has everything you could imagine. From fitness classes, relaxing facials and massages to body treatments like a “Sunburn Rescue” – how convenient is that? I always hated getting a sunburn on vacation!
